About this product

12V 100Ah Group 31 Battery for Trolling Motors

This 12V 100Ah Group 31 LiFePO4 battery delivers 1,280Wh of deep-cycle energy for compatible 12V trolling motors, fishing boats and onboard marine equipment. The Group 31 case fits verified battery trays while a 100A BMS protects the cells during charging and discharge.

Low-temperature protection pauses charging below 0°C, and the IP65 enclosure helps protect the battery from dust and water spray. The battery should still be secured in a dry, protected compartment with correctly sized cables, fuse protection and a battery disconnect.

Group 31 Dimensions and Installation Fit

The battery measures approximately 13 × 6.77 × 8.43 inches and weighs approximately 23.4 lb. Before replacing an existing battery, measure the tray, available height and hold-down points, then confirm the terminal orientation and cable reach.

Group 31 describes the case size, not complete electrical compatibility. The motor voltage, maximum current, charging profile and required runtime must also match the battery specification.

12V LiFePO4 Battery for Trolling Motors

This battery is designed for compatible 12V trolling motors used on fishing boats, kayaks and small marine craft. Check the motor's operating voltage, normal current and maximum current before selecting the battery.

A safe installation includes a correctly rated fuse or circuit breaker close to the positive terminal, a battery disconnect switch, marine-grade cables, properly crimped lugs and insulated terminal covers. Secure the battery in a protected compartment rather than placing it loose on an exposed deck.

  • Compatible with suitable 12V trolling motor systems
  • Up to 100A continuous discharge current
  • Stable LiFePO4 voltage during deep-cycle operation
  • Suitable for fishing boats and small marine power systems
  • Not intended for engine cranking unless separately tested and approved

100A BMS Protection

The integrated 100A battery management system monitors the cells during charging and discharge. It protects the battery when voltage, current or temperature moves outside the approved operating limits.

  • Overcharge and over-discharge protection
  • Overcurrent and short-circuit protection
  • High- and low-temperature protection
  • Cell-voltage monitoring and balancing

The 100A continuous rating does not make the battery compatible with every trolling motor or electric propulsion system. Confirm normal current, acceleration current and maximum load before installation.

Low-Temperature Charging Protection

When the cell temperature falls below 0°C, the BMS pauses charging to protect the battery. Charging can resume when the cells reach the approved recovery temperature. Discharge remains available within the specified discharge-temperature range.

This model provides low-temperature protection but does not include self-heating. For winter use, keep the battery in a dry, protected compartment and use LiFePO4-compatible charging equipment.

Group 31 Lead-Acid Battery Replacement

This Group 31 LiFePO4 battery can replace a compatible AGM or flooded lead-acid deep-cycle battery when the mechanical and electrical requirements match. Do not select a replacement using voltage and case size alone.

Before installation, confirm:

  • Nominal system voltage and required capacity
  • Battery tray dimensions and hold-down arrangement
  • Terminal position and cable reach
  • Continuous and peak-current requirements
  • Trolling motor voltage and maximum current
  • Charger voltage and charging profile
  • Cable size, fuse rating and disconnect requirements
  • Operating temperature and approved system configuration

Recommended Charging Settings

Use a charger or charge controller with a LiFePO4-compatible CC/CV profile. Charging voltage and current should follow the battery Datasheet and the requirements of the connected marine system.

Charge MethodCC/CV
Charge Voltage14.4V ± 0.2V
Recommended Charge Current20A
Maximum Continuous Charge Current100A
Charge Temperature0°C to 50°C / 32°F to 122°F

Suitable charging arrangements include:

  • LiFePO4 AC charger
  • Solar panel through an MPPT charge controller
  • Alternator through a compatible DC-to-DC charger
  • Generator through a suitable inverter-charger or LiFePO4 charger

Do not connect a solar panel, alternator, generator or AC power source directly to the battery without appropriate charge-control equipment.

Series and Parallel Connections

Matching batteries may be connected in series or parallel only when the battery model and BMS are approved for the required arrangement. Use batteries of the same model, capacity, production batch and state of charge.

  • Series connection: Increases system voltage while capacity remains 100Ah.
  • Parallel connection: Increases total capacity while nominal voltage remains 12.8V.
  • Maximum configuration: Up to 4S4P only when confirmed in the product Datasheet.

Parallel branches should use equal-length cables and suitable branch protection. Confirm the main fuse, disconnect switch, cable size and charging configuration before building a multi-battery system.

Questions About This Battery

Is this battery suitable for a 12V trolling motor?

It is suitable for compatible 12V trolling motors when the motor's normal current, maximum current and required runtime remain within the battery's approved operating limits.

Can it replace a Group 31 lead-acid battery?

It can replace a compatible Group 31 deep-cycle battery when the tray, terminal position, voltage, current requirement and charging equipment match. Group size alone does not confirm compatibility.

Can this battery start a boat engine?

This is a deep-cycle battery, not an engine-starting battery. Starting and dual-purpose applications require a model with separately tested CCA and MCA ratings.

Can I use an existing lead-acid charger?

Only when the charger's maximum voltage, current and charging profile are compatible with the LiFePO4 battery specification. Use a matched LiFePO4 charger when compatibility cannot be confirmed.

Does this model include Bluetooth or self-heating?

No. This version does not include Bluetooth monitoring or self-heating. It includes low-temperature protection that pauses charging below the approved temperature limit.

Can the batteries be connected in series or parallel?

Only when the battery model and BMS are approved for the required arrangement. Follow the connection limits, cable sizing, fuse requirements and charging instructions in the product Datasheet.
