Match the replacement battery platform to the cart’s verified drive-system voltage. Replacing a compatible lead-acid bank with lithium is different from converting an entire 36V vehicle to a 48V drive system. Changing system voltage may also require a compatible controller, motor, solenoid, charger, wiring and accessory converter.

Compatible 48V Yamaha Drive, Drive2 and other verified 48V vehicles may be evaluated for a 51.2V LiFePO4 battery system. Different generations should not be treated as identical installations because controller, charger, cable layout, battery tray and accessory systems may vary.
A 51.2V 100Ah battery provides 5,120Wh of nominal stored energy for compatible 48V golf carts and fleet vehicles. The BMS must support the vehicle’s actual continuous current, acceleration demand and approved short-duration peak current.

Replacing several lead-acid batteries with one LiFePO4 battery can reduce inter-battery cables and routine watering or terminal maintenance. The conversion still requires correct mechanical mounting, over-current protection, isolation, cable sizing and compatible charging equipment.

Do not assume that the original lead-acid charger can be reused. Its output voltage, maximum current, charging profile and termination behavior must match the approved LiFePO4 battery configuration.
Confirm whether the cart uses an onboard or off-board charger, the connector and polarity, and whether the vehicle relies on an enable circuit or other charging control. Lead-acid equalization modes should not be used unless compatibility has been specifically confirmed.
Bluetooth monitoring can provide access to battery voltage, current, temperature, state of charge and operating status. It can support routine checks by owners, technicians and fleet operators, but it does not replace correct wiring, protection or physical inspection.
Battery capacity and BMS current are separate selection criteria. A higher Ah rating does not guarantee compatibility with every Yamaha golf cart controller. Continuous discharge current, peak-current duration and maximum charge current should be reviewed independently.
